Hey friends and family, here’s a little recap for all of my supporters over the past few weeks. Last Monday my team and I left Jaco and made our way to San Jose for two nights. While in San Jose we did night ministry and evangelism. Staying out after midnight in a foreign country was definitely an eye opening experience. I saw many people’s lives being wasted by living out the enemy’s plans for their lives. The streets were filled with countless souls trapped in drug addiction, they were living lives without hope for freedom from these chains.

Before going down one street in the very early hours of the morning the police stopped us and told us to turn around because we would be robbed or even lose our lives. The truth is that we could not turn around. We are commissioned by our risen savior to go out to all nations, cities, and neighborhoods to make disciples. This world needs the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are supposed to go and proclaim the death, burial, and resurrection of King Jesus. Jesus tells us in Luke 19 that he came to seek and save the lost.  We must seek the lost. No matter the cost.

Therefore we had a choice to make. We could go in the authority given to us by Jesus in Mark 16, or we could stop and be paralyzed by fear. Jesus tells us in Mark 16:17-18 “And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” We chose to go boldly and not listen to the lies of the devil. In fact the Word tells us God himself went before us to fight that battle. He paved the way for ears to be ready to hear the gospel, He placed people on that street so we could pray for them.  The Kingdom of Heaven found great victory on that street in Barrio Mexico, San Jose that night.

I think of the life of Jesus and how he could have made the choice to not come to Earth. He could have changed his mind at any point during his mission.  I can only imagine the lies the enemy fed to Him throughout his life. “Just give up Jesus, these people aren’t worth it.” “Jesus you’re not powerful enough to take on the cross.” “You can not please your Father in Heaven Jesus.” These are all lies Satan tells us.  The reality is that we are not capable of doing any of these things on our own. However, we are disciples of Jesus.  This means we can bask in his victory, be blessed by our Father in heaven, and walk in the authority he has given us. But all of this starts with one command, “Go.”
