Today marks two weeks that I have been here in Jaco. Costa Rica is a beautiful place, and it has the handprint of God on it. Whether it’s the never endlong Pacific Ocean, or the views from the mountains it is so obvious God created this place.
Despite the natural beauty of the scenery here in Jaco, this city is plagued by drugs, prostitution, and human trafficking. The brokenness of humans is put on full display here. We see the chains of addiction, the pain of a person who is abused, or the broken heart of families who can not find their loved ones. We see the schemes of the enemy being played out here, we see the one who “kills, steals, and destroys” (John 10:10) praying on minds so simple and flooding this place with darkness.

However thanks be to God, that the Church is thriving here in the midst of all the terrible things that happen. The commandment we see in James 1:27, where God tells us to take care of the orphan and the widow, and to not be corrupted by this world is happening here. Jesus tells us that we are the light of this world in Matthew 5:14. Praise God that wherever we go our light over rides the darkness. People here stop us as we’re ministering and will sometimes say “There is something different about you guys” and every time that conversation starts we know God blessed us with an amazing opportunity to share the gospel with some. We see God magnifying himself through us to accomplish his plan of redemption for the world. How blessed are we that the all knowing, all powerful creator of the entire universe is kind enough to adopt us as His sons and daughters, and then use us to lead more people to Him.

Thank you for your continued prayers, and constant support. Please pray for more souls to be saved, for more people to encounter the love of Jesus, and for more people to be drawn into the love of God.

  1. The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Matthew 25:40. Hope you all are doing well.

  2. If you have faith the size of a mustard seed nothing is impossible. Say to the mountain move from here to there and it shall be done.
If you touch one person, one soul and change that life you have moved that mountain.
May the Lord bless you and keep you safe.

  3. What a privilege it is to be called children of God through accepting Christ’s gift of forgiveness.
We miss you and look forward to a little more time with your January.
    Love impartially. Love without restraint.

  4. The deeper the darkness, the more powerful the Light. I LOVE how people walking down the street are seeing Jesus in you. And I LOVE that over and over again, they’re drawn to the Jesus in you!
