I will always be grateful for every time God leaves me speechless.  Early on in this journey people always told me when it came to fundraising that God would provide, and that is something I have heard my entire life and I knew the Lord would make sure I would be funded for the world race.  Even when what I assumed would happen actually came true, I was still left speechless.  I cannot stop praising God for his faithfulness.

As of right now I will be heading oversees in about 4 months to serve God and serve others.  I never thought those words would ever come out of my mouth.  The trajectory of my entire life has been completely changed over the past 5 months. I am so excited for this opportunity to grow, serve, and learn.

I had the opportunity to speak at church this Sunday and I made a point to encourage everyone to step out in faith and follow Jesus.  Over the past year I have been meditating on the story of Jesus walking on water in front of his disciples found in Matthew 14.

“And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out in fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?””

At first glance we see that Peter began to sink in the ocean because he allowed his fear to distract him from Jesus. However, we also see that there were 11 other people in that boat who sat there and did nothing that night. They sat and waited for someone else to make something happen.  I want to remind myself and everyone to not be a boat sitter but to take a step of faith out on the waters and to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. Even if we‘re like Peter and don’t get it right the first time, we at least stepped out.  The good news for us is that when we step out and keep our eyes on Jesus and trust in him nothing will ever overcome us.

Thanks for reading.  I would like to ask for your prayers in this season.  Pray that the Lord would keep me and my team healthy and that he would prepare us for our kingdom journey.
